Annual waste managed
Waste TPD × operating daysShows how much organic material can enter the planned waste-to-energy system each year.
Waste management calculator
Estimate the annual organic waste managed, daily CBG production range, gross fuel value, and potential waste-disposal savings for common Indian feedstocks.
Adjust the assumptions to match your available waste stream.

This screening estimate applies a feedstock yield band of 35-45 kg CBG per wet ton. The default price reflects the revised ₹105/kg model (earlier model: ₹75/kg). raw FOM and raw LFOM are estimated at 20% and 60% of feedstock mass; at illustrative realisations of ₹2/kg and ₹0.20/kg, the current inputs imply about ₹52,000 of byproduct value per day, sold as raw material as generated. Actual output depends on representative testing, moisture, volatile solids, contamination, process design, methane recovery, and uptime.
Calculation method
The model connects daily wet feedstock availability with operating days, a feedstock-specific CBG yield range, your model fuel price, and the current cost of waste disposal.
Waste TPD × operating daysShows how much organic material can enter the planned waste-to-energy system each year.
Waste TPD × CBG yield (kg/ton) ÷ 1,000Applies the selected feedstock's screening yield range to daily wet feedstock availability.
Annual CBG tonnes × 1,000 × ₹/kgUses your selected model sale price before operating expenses, tax, finance, and losses. The default ₹105/kg reflects the revised model price, updated from the earlier ₹75/kg.
Waste TPD × 20% (raw FOM) and × 60% (raw LFOM)Digestate byproducts shown as raw material as generated, at illustrative realisations of ₹2/kg for raw FOM and ₹0.20/kg for raw LFOM.
Annual waste tonnes × current disposal costIllustrates the disposal expense that could potentially be redirected or avoided.
Common questions
Output varies substantially by feedstock, moisture, total solids, volatile solids, contamination, retention time, and process conditions. This calculator uses broad CBG yield ranges for early screening; representative feedstock testing is needed for design.
Yes. It includes press mud, cattle dung, food waste, Napier grass, maize silage, and poultry litter. Distillery and other liquid effluents should instead be evaluated from flow and COD data.
The model CBG selling price was revised upward from ₹75/kg to ₹105/kg, and every default on this website now reflects the revised price. You can still move the slider to test other price scenarios.
Not always. Disposal savings depend on the user's current cost and whether that expense is actually avoided after collection, transport, preprocessing, and residual handling.
Use it for initial screening only. Final sizing needs feedstock testing, monthly availability, storage losses, process selection, methane recovery, utility demand, and operating assumptions.
